Sedation Dentistry

An estimated 93 million Americans Experience Dental Anxiety. Are you one of them?

Dental fear and anxiety prevent many patients from getting the care they need to achieve a healthy smile. With sedation dentistry, you can experience pleasant dental visits, free from factors holding you back. Dr. Suzanne Mason and her team provide a safe and relaxed environment allowing you to feel comfortable receiving the treatment you need. Regardless of the cause of your anxiety, you can experience positive dental visits with our gentle approach and relaxing sedation dentistry services.

Oral Sedation

With this method of sedation dentistry, a prescription sedative pill is taken one hour before your scheduled appointment in our office. Oral sedation induces a calm and relaxed feeling, leaving you free from worry about the treatment provided. Because the effects of oral sedation linger for several hours, a driver is required to bring you to and from your visit to our office.

IV Conscious Sedation

Compared to oral sedation, intravenous sedation provides a deeper state of relaxation, whereby medications are given to reduce anxiety and promote a sleep state. The IV sedation dentistry medications used with this method have amnesiac effects, however you remain conscious and able to respond to our instructions. As with oral sedation, a driver is required when receiving IV sedation dentistry. For IV sedation techniques, no solid or liquid food or drinks may be consumed for 4-6 hours prior to your appointment. Your safety is our priority.

We understand that dental treatment and surgery can be stressful and intimidating. That’s why, at Mason Periodontics & Dental Implants Dr. Suzanne Mason offers both IV sedation and oral sedation.
